Students for Concealed Carry Welcomes New Southwest Regional Director

AUSTIN, TX – Students for Concealed Carry (SCC) wishes the best to outgoing Southwest regional director Antonia Okafor, who is moving on to the next stage of her career, and congratulates Brian Bensimon, who previously served as SCC director for the state of Texas, on his appointment as the new Southwest regional director.

Michael Newbern, SCC assistant director of public relations, commented, “This past year was one of the busiest ever for SCC’s Texas chapter, and we are eternally grateful to outgoing Southwest regional director Antonia Okafor for seeing us through the lead-up to and ultimate implementation of campus carry at Texas universities. The next twelve months will take us through both the 2017 Texas Legislative Session and the implementation of campus carry at Texas community and junior colleges, so we are extremely fortunate to have a qualified, experienced advocate like Brian Bensimon stepping into the role at such a crucial time.”

  1. It may also interest your readers that under the EU Constitution citizens have a right to life but not a right to self defense or armed self defense. Member states have that right but that right does not extend to the citizenry.

  2. Boise State is a great university with some very good instructors. Hampikian may just be one of the outliers.

To his credit, all of the issues he raises are issues that should be prominently posted in public – and publicly destroyed through logic. His writing is imaginative enough that it indicates sufficient intelligence to understand that his own arguments are persiflage unrelated to serious discussion of the matter at hand. But there are less intelligent people who actually believe some of the doggerel anti-Second Amendment folks routinely serve up, and some who actually oppose the right of individuals to defend themselves. These are people who should be destroyed – not with guns, but with laughter. No thinking person can honestly take seriously any of the mainline anti-gun arguments. Those on the fringe (‘morons shouldn’t be given guns”) may have merit, but lack general application. In short, drawing out the anti-gun individuals, mocking them, embarrassing them, shunning them, is entirely appropriate.

Imagine if, in Hampikian’s classes, large numbers of students were to shout out, “Pow! Pow! Pow! – Oooop! I forgot my permit!” at the beginning and end of each class as an ode to Hampikian’s apparent belief that no guns come on campus but as allowed by law. It might make clear that each of those “pows!” could in fact have been a pistol shot… something no rules against gun possession would address. Crossing campus, students might yell out to Hampikian, “Pow! Pow! Hello Hampikian! Have a nice day!” or even, “Can you tell me the way to the Pow! Pow! Pow! student book store?”

How would Hampikian react to multiple reminders on a daily basis over a period of weeks that anyone might be carrying a firearm – with or without a permit to do so?

    Let’s find out!
